Geneviève Godbout is a freelance illustrator who specializes in children’s literature. She now lives in Montréal, surrounded by her little family, after many years spent in London as a Winnie the Pooh character artist for the Walt Disney Company.

Her distinctive style in soft pastels and coloured pencils convey nostalgia from another era. She works with various publishers such as Tundra Books, Penguin Random House, Harper Collins, Quarto, Comme des Géants and La Pastèque.

Geneviève’s work was selected for the Societety of Illustrators Original Exhibit in New York in 2017, 2018 and 2019 for her books Johnny Appleseed by Lori Haskins Houran, Goodnight, Anne by Kallie George and Apple Cake by Dawn Casey. Other recent works include Wherever You’ll Be by Ariella Prince Guttman, Merry Christmas Anne and If I Couldn’t be Anne by Kallie George, and Mary Poppins by P.L. Travers.

She is currently working on the sequel to What’s Up, Maloo?, where she made her authorial debut.
