I joined Folio in 2013 after working as an agent at The Literary Group International with Frank Weimann. Prior to that, I worked at packager and literary agency Stonesong, where I participated in every facet of book production, from sales to photo shoots to edits and design. That unique perspective has allowed me to weigh in with authority on behalf of clients during every step of the publishing process.
I very much enjoy working one on one with authors. For nonfiction, I will often brainstorm with clients who have the requisite knowledge and platform but aren’t sure how to harness that into a saleable concept. I have no qualms about getting my hands dirty with proposals: I will write, re-write, and edit behind a client to present the best possible pitch to editors. For fiction, my aim is the same, and I will provide whatever is necessary to achieve that result, from general editorial suggestions to line edits.
Some of my books include AS YOU WISH by Cary Elwes (Touchstone); OH, BABY! by Tia Mowry (Avery); PARENTING: ILLUSTRATED WITH CRAPPY PICTURES by Amber Dusick (Harlequin Nonfiction); LIL BUB’S LIL BOOK by Lil Bub and Mike Bridavsky (Gotham); THE CUPCAKE CLUB series by Sheryl and Carrie Berk (Sourcebooks Jabberwocky); and THE COOLHAUS ICE CREAM COOKBOOK by Natasha Case and Freya Estreller (Houghton Mifflin).
What I’m looking for
I focus on commercial nonfiction, but I take on select fiction projects that appeal to me.
I am looking for cooking, crafting, parenting, humor, pop culture, memoir, and blogs-to-books (do you have a killer Alexa rating? I want to hear from you). I gravitate toward anything with a strong platform.
Adult literary fiction that has commercial crossover potential
What I’m not looking for
Poetry, plays, or screenplays. Science fiction, fantasy, romance, YA. Historical nonfiction.
